Dumbbell swings are used along with bodyweight exercises in the Swings and Sprints routine!

Welcome to the Workouts section. In early 1999 I began writing up free bodyweight routines for fellow martial artists at www.mma.tv. I originally emailed the workouts to those who sent a request but when the requests reached into the thousands, I couldn't keep up with the demand and posted them on a website so that everyone could download them for free at their convenience.

Over time I found that plenty of other people were requesting the workouts as well. Everyone from housewives, college students, and law enforcement/firefighters, retirees, people going throughphysical rehabilitation, and those who were just sick and tired of wasting their money on worthless pieces of junk that don't work. These were people that just wanted results they could actually see, in other words: someone probably just like you.

What I had initially thought would only appeal to hard-core martial artists, was appealing to everyone else as well!

I explain each exercise in the workout text as best I can but it's still difficult for some people to visualize how certain things need to be done. Even pictures weren't enough for some people and this was the driving force behind the SCRAPPER Bodyweight Conditioning videos and latest Mod. 1.

Each routine is designed to work your entire body and be a progressive experience. If you cannot finish the workout as it is written, do not quit! Just lower the reps to what you are able to do for that workout and then, after two workouts, increase the reps by 1-2. Follow this protocol until you are able to complete the entire workout as it is written or you can follow along without pausing the video.
